Now showing at the Senate Theater
Was not able to watch the news on tv Monday night so I got wind of the Senate tearjerker only on Tuesday morning, from the papers.
I have seen Senator Jamby Madrigal several times in the past especially during campaign periods. If I remember right, she ran and lost during her first try to land a Senate seat. She went to Urdaneta City with milk and biscuits which she fed to schoolchildren. On her second try, she has changed tack – she advocated and sponsored trainings on reflexology. Then there were the interviews and press conferences…
There were already Senate dramas involving her and former DENR Secretary Michael Defensor. One of their contentions was the involvement of Madrigal’s family in logging at the time of Marcos. Madrigal was fiery as hell then.
The latest showing at the Senate Theater starred her and Senator Juan Ponce Enrile. The story was supposed to revolve around PP 1017, but the script took a turn when Enrile made a swipe at her family, saying it benefited from its connection with Marcos.
That made Jamby cry and cry and cry…
Whew! Is this all we get from the Senate, whose members get P200 million each in pork? And, according to Big Brother Jose de Venecia, passed only four laws in 2005?
We’re watching a rather very expensive and very corny movie. Not entertaining at all.
